Ella began cultivating her passion for the written word almost the moment she was brought into this world. Although a lover of fine literature by the age of 9, she soon branched out into more varied text types which she continues to read to this day. Somewhere along the way she realised that behind every great writer is a great editor who is there to keep the story on track and those errant commas and apostrophes at bay.
With extensive experience in academic writing and editing, including degrees in architectural design and advertising, Ella has also ventured into the world of fiction editing. It is Ella's mission to help authors transform their stories into polished, publishable books. |

Personal Experience |
Writing and editing have always come naturally to Ella. From writing grammatically perfect short stories as a young girl, to producing high level academic papers as a university student, written excellence in both the creative and academic fields has always been standard. Ella has a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours Class 1) and a Master of Philosophy in Architectural History & Advertising from the University of New South Wales. She has studied academic and creative writing at a tertiary level. For the past five years, Ella has spent time writing and editing academic papers and teaching university courses on writing and presentation skills in Built Environment disciplines.

Editing is not simply an exercise requiring a keen eye and excellent grammar, although this certainly helps. As an avid reader, Ella has read well over 4,000 novels across a wide range of genres. This lived experience enables her to better assess tone and narrative flow. Furthermore, her experience enables her to make fine distinctions and notice subtle shifts in characterisation and author voice, as well as pinpoint discrepancies that can disrupt the congruency of an otherwise wonderful story. Whilst perhaps she does not come into the world of editing via a traditional path, Ella's varied experiences lend a unique perspective to her work.
